Wick Court- Cotswold Cottages

Children welcome at Wick Court- Cotswold Cottages
Bedrooms : 6 Wick Court,
is like nothing else we have ever seen, in terms of a holiday property! This handsome and unique building is situated at the end of a mile long lane, tucked within a bend of the River Severn, has its own moat and is surrounded by 140 acres of stunning English countryside.

It is believed that the Court has a history dating back to c1480, but of particular interest is the fact that there was a Royal visitor, Queen Elizabeth I, who stayed here when she was forced to leave nearby Berkeley Castle. Today the property is run as a charity (Farms for City Children
) providing children with the opportunity to 'learn about where food comes from, the importance of caring for animals and the land and the value of working co-operatively as a team.' (quoted from the Farm for City Children website).
The property is unusual but it is ideal if your party is large, plus all proceeds go back to the charity (see below) which is for an excellent cause. The accommodation is basic but it is fun - after all when was the last time you slept in a bunk bed?ACCOMMODATION

While the price per week is as advertised, we would be willing to consider parties of a smaller size based on a minimum price. Weekends and short breaks are happily entertained at any time. Please note that bed linen is included, but towels are NOT. At certain times there may be the opportunity to purchase vegetables etc grown in the gardens! There is plenty of space to enjoy around the house including enclosed gardens, as well as the acres and acres of fields. The River Severn is about 100 yards away, although access must be across a local lane.
We of course, will be happy to go through the property in detail to assist you and ensure that you are aentirely happy with your choice and decision

Local Information

Arlingham is a small village approximately 2 miles away with a local pub - The Red Lion. In addition and recommended by the locals are The Ship at Framilode and The Bell at Frampton.
The are many local activities to consider nearby including the famous Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge, near Severn Estuary. Gloucester is approx 15 miles away. All the main food supermarkets deliver to the property. We are delighted to be asked to work for the charity to offer Wick Court, a Grade II* listed building, for specific periods in the school holidays for groups up to 40. We feel that this is ideal for parents and families or/and large groups who want to enjoy all that this choice offers, which we must highlight is relatively basic. That's right, we're not pretending that this is 5 star or anything like it, this is a property for those who want to get away and enjoy things in a way that they used to be, there's no TV (but there is a radio!) just fresh air, open land, ancient orchards with rare apples, farm animals including pigs, horses, chickens, geese, cows and turkeys, plus traditional wildflower meadows, a simple games room and an opportunity to spend 'quality time' together. To quote the charity again - 'the rewards are non-material'!
