Villagio, Chiswick - by Andy

Early dinner for a seven year old child and a one year old baby in Chiswick. Nice to finally find a restaurant where the tables aren't crammed in and the service is great.

Everyone likes Italian food - especially kids so we were pleased to see a new place open up after the demise of family favourite Brick Oven in Chiswick.

Villagio is a small chain that just opened up on Chiswick High Road near Sainsburys. They offer a superb Italian menu for adults as well as a separate Children's Menu that is great value at just £5.75. The restaurant itself is light and airy with plenty of space and you can park your buggy on the way in when it isn't too busy. They have plenty of high chairs and with curved sofa booths, you can easily sit small children in between adults without any worry about them escaping and causing havoc.

We've been in three times now (twice with children) and our experience of the food has been superb on every occasion. There is a great mix of pasta, pizza and meat dishes for adults . The Children's Menu offers three courses and Doofy is a big fan of the penne pasta.

The service has always been great too - with lots of attention paid to the children to ensure that they are comfortable when they arrive and a little crayon pack handed out to occupy them. They seem to be open from 11.30am every day in the week and 9.30am at weekends so I'd be surprised if this didn't become a favourite coffee morning venue for yummy mummies as they have lots of comfy sofas.

Even though the location is on the wrong side of Sainsburys to be obvious to find, it's definitely a place to try out if you are in Chiswick or Turnham Green.
