Discover our Collection

Throughout the year we host temporary exhibitions so there will always be something new to see. Check our main website www.nature-in-art-org.uk before your visit to see what is on.

There is also chance to see artists at work, from February to November. Each week an artist sets up in our artists' studio and is there for visitors to see and talk to about their work.

Explore our collections through using our handling boxes, the Sculpture box in particular will enable children to explore the texture and feel of materials which relate to the artworks on display. But also there is the option of doing some brass-rubbing and exploring the sculpture garden, completing the nature trail along the way. The outdoor play area is also a great place for the children to have fun.
During the school holidays we host an array of art activities for children, all within our purpose built education centre. Activities range from batik work to block printing to sculpting birds. The opportunities to be inspired at Nature in Art are endless.

To find out more about our child-friendly activities please visit our education website www.discoveryzone.org.uk. Here you will find out about our activities as well as our Family Fun Days which take place throughout the year and are special days featuring real live animals for children and families to engage with.

Complete your Day

Once you have explored our collection, there is the chance to rest and relax in our Coffee Shop, which has a conservatory overlooking the sculpture garden. Try one of our yummy cakes or home-made lunches. We have a children’s menu and cater for dietary needs including vegetarians and gluten free diets.
Before you go, pop into our gift shop which offers a selection of unique gifts and art related materials, giving you the opportunity to take away something to remember your visit to Nature in Art.

If you really enjoy your visit, we have a 'Friends of Nature in Art' scheme which you can join, benefits of which are free entry to the museum for a year, 10% off art materials and a quarterly newsletter to keep you up to date with all our events.
